I think the tech world is being a lot of generous on us these days. New launches, new announcements have surfaced in the recent days. See, just a week ago, Microsoft launched its tablet-cum-laptop, in the market to compete with the market-dominating brand Apple’s iPad. If this is not enough, we got the news of Android OS’s upgrade. Android got an upgrade from 4.0 IceCream Sandwich to 4.1 Jelly Bean. And now yet another great announcement.

Google too entered the tablet-market and thus in the competition with its very own Nexus tablet. It seems that Google was just waiting for Microsoft to take the initial step and as Microsoft’s Surface was announced, Google announced its tablet within no time. Are they both planning to take out Apple, or what ???

With Google I/O’s opening note, the company announced its first tablet under the ‘Nexus’ branding. Google has officially announced the Nexus 7 tablet, its very first reference-grade tablet. Nexus 7 is the first and currently the only device with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Nexus 7 comes with some of the great features, that are way to much compared to its price. Its priced at $199 for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB model. And it comes with a $25 Google Play credit.

The device comes with a quad-core Tegra 3, a 1.2 megapixel front camera, NFC technology, 1280×800 HD display and a 7-inch IPS-based LCD covered in a ‘Scratch-resistant Corning glass’. All this for just a mediocre price of $199. The device also has GPS feature.
