Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Features and Release date.

       Amidst the news going on about Microsoft Surface tablets, here’s yet another aweome update that many Android lovers were eagerly waiting for. Android Jelly Bean is finally here. It’s not the Android 5.0 as rumored but it is the Android 4.1. As the number suggests, rather than getting a ful OS upgrade, it will be getting a mild update.

 

      Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be rolled out in the upcoming weeks, but if you want it you can buy yourself google’s brand new Nexus 7 tablet. It comes pre-loaded with Jelly Bean. The devices that are in the line of getting the upgrade first are Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and the Xoom. Today, I am here going to tell you about some of the features that I liked and I bet you will love it too.

 

The Project Butter :-

 

With Jelly Bean, we will get a more seamless UI experience. The “Project Butter” describes a series of improvements that Jelly Bean offers, like the VSync, Tripple Buffering and touch Responsiveness.

 

With a higher frame rate, the screen animation moves a lot more smoother. Moreover, Jelly Bean will make the hardware, including the processor and graphic processing unit work together (Triple buffering) to offer a faster, more improved experience.

 

The part of the Touch Responsiveness improvements is the touch predictability, as Jelly Bean will know where the user will touch next. Amazing, isn’t it ??

 

Some Awesome Improvements :-

Home Screen and Widgets :-
The users will be able to further customize the appearance of their homescreen. It will be much easier job to add widgets to any screen. The widgets will adapt to the current layout of the display and resize automatically to fit the area. To remove a widget, just swipe it upwards and out of your phone and you are done. Same thing can be done with apps and photos.

 

Text Input :- 
Jelly Bean comes with a refined and improved text input options, a regular touch-based typing and an improved voice-based typing alternative. It now supports an extra 18 languages, has a better dictionary and predictive text support.

 

Accessibility :-
Google is eyeing on growing it’s user-base, including visually-challenged users. jelly Bean offers voice-based and gesture-based interactions to help visually-challenged people.

 

Camera :-
ICS brought updated camera features, including the zero-lag shutter. While Jelly Bean allows to access the photo library a lot more faster, offering a film-strip view for faster scrolling with social-sharing integrated. Adding to it, we also have an undo feature included just in case we have removed something that shouldn’t be removed.

Android Beam :- 

Android Beam was launched with ICS, now Jelly Bean offers more things. It will let you share images or videos between NFC devices with a simple tap. Furthermore, NFC-enabled devices will be instantly paired with Bluetooth with just a simple tap.

Notifications :-

The Notifications are now more in action, means they expand, collapse and they’re customizable. The new Notifications app will let you perform various app-related actions right from the notification of that particular app, without actually going into the app.

Release Date :- 

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be available as an update to Nexus-branded devices including Nexus S, the galaxy Nexus and the Motorola Xoom by July. While the developers are playing with the upgrade with Jelly Bean SDK from the previous day.

The company has also announced a PDK (Platform Development Kit) for Android device makers. PDKs will probably be available 2-3 months ahead of the launch of the next-gen Android version.
